Allison Beda

Biography

Allison Beda's production company A Muse Productions aims to inspire and entertain. Her first narrative short film Fallen is a BC Film/Directors Guild of Canada 'Kickstart' award recipient, premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival and is presently airing on CBC 'Zed.' Her first documentary (based on her experiences as a fashion model) is the feature length How To Be a Model (a 12 step plan) which garnered her a Don Haig Award Nomination and a Nell Shipman Award Nomination, and is presently airing on THE DOC CHANNEL. She has also made a number of award winning experimental shorts films including her very first film Know your Alphabet, which toured Europe with the likes of Stan Brackhage.
Allison has done 3 seasons as an Episode/Segment director on the Force Four show The Shopping Bags, directs videos and EPKs for inspiring local bands and has just finished the very dark short comedy Tea Party (which premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival). She is also preparing to direct her first feature comedy The Take Out Girl (written by Lara McKinnon), which she developed with Telefilm Canada and which is a National Screen Institute 2007 'Features First' recipient.
Allison is particularly fond of making comedies about women who cause a lot of trouble.
